car knocking
 

just bought 2004 192 for the wife 3wks ago was driving great untill yesterday when car just stopped and wouldnt start!! so today spent all day getting it to run but now engine knocking its tits off!! I dont no a great deal about these engines but sounds like load bigend knock.... does this mean i need a new engine??

car has 56000 full service history but i bought it private help needed

are you getting a check engine light? are you using 91octain or higher?
If you bought private, the warranty is still applicable to you, providing you can show them maintenance records.
when was the last time you changed plugs/ coils?

no engine light..... been putting in 95 octain... whats the warranty thanks

dont no about the coils and plugs but dont want to throw money at the car if engine knackered...... car starts as it should and ticks over normal... but struggles a bit when hot
