car just died in the parking lot
good grief, I just spent a bunch of money doing all this maintenance type stuff, had fluids replaced, injectors cleaned, etc etc. and my car is running like *** again. Engine was idling so bad it almost jumped out of the engine bay, then it just quit. first time I tried to restart it, it turned over but wouldn't start, then 2nd time it started but then the idling started again etc. I've had all the recall stuff done, the starter tsb, the motor mounts replaced, upgraded the battery to a yellow top, just recently had an oil change, already had the coils/wires/plugs swapped out, nothing seems to fix it, any ideas? Or am I fixing to be a member of the refurb engine club? Car makes an awful rattling sound under heavy load, but car in neutral revs fine, no sputtering, no backfiring etc,, just like its slipping a gear or starving for fuel or something. Any ideas on what to use for a search criteria? I'm fixing to dig around the site, just don't even know where to start. :tears:

Got an update yesterday, basically they said they're waiting to hear back from Mazda on a replacement engine (eek!). The service writer I've been working with (Alan at Beasley South) said this is a pretty common issue, and my guess is since I've tried getting this resolved in the past and all normal steps have not worked, instead of wasting time band-aiding things he is just wanting to get a new engine in there and call it done. Guess I'll hear more on Monday, I'll keep everyone posted, what a lame turn of events

Very sorry to hear these issues. I've been having the same problems and fear I'll be having to go through the same thing. Any updates? Again sorry to hear about all your problems. It seems many here think these problems are sporadic... but thread after thread and reports from dealerships that this is common now should say something.... its BS imo...

Well I got it back Saturday and so far so good. They ran all the usual tests and it passed everything with flying colors save for some misfiring issues, so they replaced most of the ignition parts like coils, plugs, and spark plug wires etc. No new engine as it was actually showing flawless compression numbers, the techs were amazed as most of the ones they've seen with my mileage were not as strong
