Car isnt turning on right away??

Car isnt turning on right away??

Wanted to see if anybody had any ideas on why my car isnt turning on right away. what happens is that i turn the key and the engine turn over but its takes it a couple of seconds before it fires and turns on. i thought it was the spark plugs so got the changed out but still got the same problem. anybody got any suggestions to waht it might be??

your starter, i assume you havent had the updated one installed?

If you have an '04 or '05, dozer is correct. Mazda initially delivered the USDM cars with inadequate starter motor and battery. They put out a service bulletin in around mid-'05 as I recall, and anyone with hard starting got upgraded batteries and starter motors.

The first image shows the difference in the motors. The larger one is the upgraded unit. A more capable battery will also significantly help with starting. Get one with around 640 CCA (not CA) and along with the upgraded starter the car will start almost immediately. Big difference.

great thanks for the input, im going to need to get that checked out then cuz yes i do have an 05'. wouldn't the dealership have said something to me about this when i took it to them?? i did tell them my car wasn't starting up right away, shouldnt they have been like owe well there is a service bullet for your model on the starter and changed it. those ***$%&@#... they tried to charge me like $450+ for other **** first, then they porb would have said something about that later.

thanks again and ill have that looked into and bring it up to there attention next time i go to get my oil changed.

maybe they did look it up and yours is already done.

is this a new phenomena or did you just get the car and its been this way since you got it?
