Car drove fine now wont start

I have a 2004 mazda rx8 my car has been driving fine since i got it about 8months ago last night i drove to the store went in and came out and it wouldnt start. there is no dtcs and the car wont rev past 3000rpm. I pulled the mass air flow meter out and it was dirty as hell so i cleaned it and put it back in and it still doesnt idle or stay on. If i unplugg the maf and give it gas to start it the car revs up past 3 grand and i can hold it there for a few but if i plug in the maf it wont i replaced it with 3 different ones all after market still no luck. any ideas? or maybe i should try a new maf from the dealer which is gonna cost 250 for the sensor.
