Big Problems With Brakes!

I was having some issues with my brakes and went to the dealership. My car has 13,000 miles on it and I just bought it so I'm not sure if the brakes have been changed. Of coarse the dealership tells me that this is completely normal for my brakes to squeek almost every time that I step on the brakes. He said the reason is because they are metal based brakes and it must be catching at some point. This is very frustrating! My car should not be the car on the road squeeking when braking!

Does anyone else have this problem? Is this normal? Thanks for your imput!

If you do use that TSB as a guide and ACTUALLY put the grease as they describe on ALL those points, you'll have relatively slight to no squeaking, depending on the compound you use. I never had a peep out of HP+ pads doing that.

Outing Dealers

We really should start outing these unscrupulous dealers, mentioning them by name. I decided not to replace my Hyundai Accent because someone posted information about the local Hyundai dealer. (No Hyundai jokes please, unless you have an 11 year old car that still runs hard and gets 30 mpg). I looked around this web site for a few weeks before I bought my 8. If that dealer's name had been mentioned, I would have avoided them. I think we have some power to affect them if they mis-treat us. Just be very accurate about what you say, so you keep yourself (and the web site) out of trouble.

i took my car in two sayd ago with those squeeky brakes.. it happened once at 1200 miles brand new they replaced the pads.

replaced those pads at around 20K miles and now at 43K they start to squeek and the dealership said that int he cold morning they do tend to squeel but since i was in warranty they just went ahead and changed them anyways.

yay =]

went from 50% pad left to 100 %

my dealer alwasy takes good care of me
