Hello people! I aint no mechanic so I havent got a clue when it comes to cars but what is the average idle of the rx8?
Its the 2005 192 5speed model, it idles just below 1000rpm, is this abit low and if so, what would be likely to cause this issue?

mine is @ 800

If I have my header back exhaust installed it jumps between 1k-800 and can dip as low as 500

At start up, it should be close to 1750-2000 RPM at while the Air Pump is on. Once the Air Pump shuts off, you should see the RPM drop just below 1000 RPM.

It's just fine as the other guys have stated.
If you're concerned because it is a "rough" idle then there's possibly something going on

Thank you all, yes i think everything is fine tbh, it starts abit higher a normal then goes down to around 800 like dmedz8 says. My cars bin sat for about 2 weeks so jus wanted to make sure everything is normal, as we all know you dont take care of these engines they will soon let u know about it!!!
