Another "Car wont Start" Thread

I read the sticky on the top of this page, YES, I searched all over this forum and still haven't found an answer or similar problem.

I have a 2004 Automatic RX8. I am using an Odyssey PC680 Lightweight battery in my car. Over the past 2 months my startups have been very rough. Sometimes taking almost 10 seconds for the engine to turn over. Over the past 2 weeks not only has the startup worsened, but the battery has been dying too. I had the alternator tested and it supposedly tested Good. The shop said my battery was putting out lower than normal voltage but that they didn't think it was a problem. Yesterday morning I tried to start the car and it made a clicking sound, which I assume means the battery is dead. So I jump start the car and the engine turns over in about 4 seconds. I drove around for about 20 miles to see if the battery charges up, but when I turn off the car and wait for about 10 minutes, the car starts to turn over and then click, battery dies. So I try to jump it again, but it still wont turn over right away. It took several tries before it actually started. I drove it back home, made sure the battery connections were tight, and it started up perfectly. This moring, after the car sat for about 15 hours, the battery is totally dead, no dome lights, nothing, AND It will not jump start. Even with the jumper cables attached to my battery for about 10 minutes, it is still so dead that the dome light wont turn on (and wont turn over of course). So I'm stuck.

I have been told its the starter, but then how come the dome light wont turn on if the car is plugged into another car?

Do you think I have multiple issues going on?

Thanks, and sorry about the really long post.

Can a bad starter cause my battery to drain?

It's pretty obvious.....replace the battery and go from there...I would recommend PC 925 tho, it has better CCA, it's much suitable for 8.

there have been issues with battery drains because people have left the trunk open, even slightly.

But, I think that boat has long since sailed. +2 on battery change...
