My friend told me his manual shifting in his automatic didnt work so we opened the panel and saw 3 connections for the shift up and 3 for the shift down, only 2 connections were made on each side and one wasnt used
the little plastic cover for the up and down circuit board things says ON above the missing connection.
how do i fix this or where can i get the part for it

That looks fine, probably isn't the problem.

edit:
Use a multimeter and see if there is continuity between the 2 wires while you're holding the shifter either up or down.. then at least you'll know if the switches are good
