AC/Heater fan "issue"

My AC (and heater) fan will not work correctly, it works fine at random times.
Yesterday it would no longer work at all.
I have checked the fuses. (All good)
I wonder if the fan itself could be failing, and how to fix it.

I hate to go to Mazda for anything.

Sounds like it could be the fan itself going bad, but it's not that old. It's not unusual to take an old fan out, knock it around a bit, put it back in, and have it work for another year or two. This happened to my 16-year-old Miata and I still haven't unboxed the new fan.

Just noticed something else too.

While it may not have anything to do with the fan issue, I noticed the glove compartment light does not work either; I will recheck all the fuses.

Fixed!

Hammer time!
Fuses were all OK.
I disconnected the fan power wire under the glove compartment.
I connected my multi-meter to the fan power wire.
Key on, Fan switch on. -- Meter shows power.
Key off, reconnect wire, key on, fan switch on. -- still no fan
Hammer on the bottom of the fan -- Success!
