4port engine instal due to a 6port engine failure, the oem 4port engine ecu shows obd2 code u0101 and car wont start.
Any idea of what can i do?
Engine is currently runing with the 6port ecu but showing codes for manifold runer and random misfire on cylinder 2, not able to pass NY Inspection.

 

If the 4 port ECU is out of an automatic (if it's from North America, it definitely is), then it won't work with a manual trans... the code you have is it crying about missing a transmission. Among other things.

A 6 port ECU won't work with a 4-port engine, the things it's complaining about are missing 6-port parts: the intake runner valves and 2 extra fuel injectors. Not to mention it's mapped for 6 ports, not.. 4. It will never run right.

You're going to need a 6-port to make this all work.

i guess it’s what can happen when someone who doesn’t have all the knowledge try for first time and then try to search for answers, after a while people comes with good vibes and experience and help. can't even figured out 4/6 port out and wanna do bridge port ...

I can see why rx8 fails so fast ...
