2005 rx8 washed the engine car runs like a tractor!!!

Hey guys I was washing my car and washed the engine did it many times before...but this time did it too much I guess and after I started the car it was running really bad and stalling and shaking...Did the water possibly get into the coils? or spark plugs ?? I waited a day and still does the same..check engine light is on and it flashes sometimes.. The car drives better on higher rpms but still like a tractor and shaking ...

any help would be great

I know stupid me :P

I think you knocked a spark plug wire loose.

If your wires are secure, get the OBD scanned and see why the CEL came on.

Autozone will scan it for free. Then google the code and rx8.

I checked the coils and they look alright . But now after disconnecting the battery all the codes cleared and the car runs the same. Will the scanner still pick it up now since the cel is not flashing anymore?

If the code is pending(not displaying a CEL), might be stored as a pending code on a scanner.
