2004 RX8 rough idle low power

Started car and drove down street when power fell off, engine started idling roughly and engine light came on. Got home and shut it off.
Restarted car and it idles with some vibration through to exhaust pipes. Feels low on power and engine light blinks when I rev it but stays on steady at idle?
Just had new O2 sensor installed a couple of weeks ago and was running fine. If it were a standard motor, I'd say it feels like I dropped a cylinder.
Any ideas?

You ignition is failing.

Coils, wires, plugs.

Don't get raped by dealer prices, you can find them for up to a third cheaper elsewhere, including forum vendors.

Don't pay for labor, since they are REALLY easy to swap.

Be advised that your failing ignition has likely started rapid cat failure, so you are likely to see power loss and localized heating problems before long.

No as a matter of fact I didn't. Guess I'll spend my valuable time looking for similar posts instead of asking a quick question while I'm sitting here trying to figure out why my car crapped out. Next time I'll be more sensitive so as not to offend anyone.

Well this isn't a Q&A forum for noobs who want to be spoon fed. Your issues are common and have been discussed and resolved many times. That is why we have a search function.

Dstill,

9k's reaction is relatively common from many people on here. It's from how we get the same questions over and over again, and your issue is so incredibly common that it's akin to "when do I need to change my oil?". Ignition health on an RX-8 is so incredibly important and information about it is flooded everywhere, as is the number of people that start threads asking about things going wrong because they ignored their ignition and it gave them trouble.

So take 9k's reaction with a grain of salt and please avoid getting offended.
