Just got it out of the shop and BANG, another CEL. Do they eventuall get to the bottom of these? This is number 3 !!!!!!!! Last 2 were O2 sensors. Getting tired of this car!!!!!!!

what were the codes? did they check the cat and or replace the 02 sensors previously?

 

sometimes it can take a few trips to fix a problem. Say you have a few bad sensors, all in the same system, like those old strings of xmas lights, you might find the problem is one sensor (bulb) so you change it, only after that is fixed do you see the next problem, ect....

I know its a hassle, I just picked up my car cause it was 'fixed' but within 8 miles of driving the problem was back, and it was worse, so I had to take it back in the shop..... at least it will (should) eventualy be fixed.

It would be nice if they could just change out the whole system, and then check the parts and reuse the good stuff, but cause of cost, and sometimes labor they dont....

 

Don't know the codes. But just got a call from the dealer and he said it was the same code as before, indicating a bad O2 sensor. He is waiting to hear back afrom a Mazda Tech line before attempting to fix again. Fingers crossed!!!!!!! Want to buy a great car!!!!! lol

i bet it indicates a bad cat and not a bad sensor

 

Dealer called and said they are sending the computer in to Mazda for a re-program and will have the car for 3 to 4 days. They gave a rental . Has anyone else had their computer sent off for re-program?
