Your ground of choice in the engine bay?
Just wondering what your ground of choice would be in the engine bay when boosting your battery. Maybe it's just the bad lighting in the garage I'm in but I can't spot a decent ground that's far enough from the battery.
And yes I read the ground threads But none of them address the booster cable preferred ground.

^ Yea that what I used to do before I knew anything about cars but I heard from a lot of people that a chassis ground was a better choice.

Negative terminal is usually not recommended - you want the first and last connections in the circuit to be on the engine block, or anywhere except right on top of the battery. Unusual discharge conditions will fill the battery and area with hydrogen and sparks should be avoided.
I like the alternator bracket, you can always count on a good ground there.
