AZ The worst rotary you wiil ever see....

First things first,

A little back story.
So about one month ago I found a purple 04 RX8 for $1500.
Sounds good right?
the front rotor had zero compression, no surprise, but the rear was good.
So i got it all apart and the apexseal had broke inside the front housing.

Then I found another 13b at a shop here in town, but it was seized-up, but it looked good and clean.
Will i took the chance and bought it for $300

Got it back home and took the rear iron off and this is what i found.
the worst rotary engine I have ever seen

here is one after i cleaned it

That's a steal for the car. The rotor housings on the engine that was in a "tsunami" are salvageable... I'm serious!

Iron's are rarely salvageable due to the amount decay/rust. You'll have to use a SST or dial indicator to see how much material would need to be lapped from them. It's arguable at after indicating as the housings will no longer be centered to the engineering of the factory e-shaft if massive material is to be lapped away.

I had an engine years ago that I literally dug out of the mud from a field it had been sitting in. It was highly rusted inside and the chambers were filled up with an ant mound. That motor had nothing usable in it. Not even the e-shaft. The irons were very deteriorated.
