Wiring gurus, I need some assistance!
Since no one responded to my other thread, and this one is a little bit different, I made a new thread. Here it goes:
Today I tried to set up some fog lights to work off of a rocker switch that I bought from RadioShack (This One). Wat I did was cut two wires which are supposededly the ones responsible for toggling the fog lights from the left light stalk thing on the steering column (the one that you use for turning on and off your lights and turn signals). I attatched them to be toggled by my switch and tried to test run one fog light. When iI tried to turn on the headlights, it would not come on. Then i tried to toggle my "custom" switch. That didnt work either. Then I tried to turn on the high beams.... it worked, but there was a LOUD buzzing sound from the fuse box. I need help on what i did wrong, please if you need more info just ask. thanks!

Did you have your key in the acc/on position? The light won't come on in the off position.
Also, you may think about installing your lights on their own separate circuit instead of
cutting into the factory wiring.

I even tried with the car started. I just tought since fog light equiped cars just have a different light stalk with a switch for fog lights, i could tap into that wiring find the wires for the switch and TADA!. I was wrong... well at least maybe I'm right... maybe I just did something wrong.

OK...I'm in....
I'll give it a shot.....
You don't have factory fogs, but you cut two wires you thought MIGHT be for power to the fogs?
What color were the wires?
What country are you in? (Do you have Daytime Running Lights)
Why bother with any factory wires? All you need is your fogs, your switch and some power....
I can sort this out with those answers.

Im in the US. So i think i DO have the running lights.
I did this because I don't have the knowledge to do anything else, I tought it was simple. :-D

Maniac listed the relevant wiring diagrams in his post on the "Fog Light Rewire" DIY. See the last two links.

You may want to use the DIY's approach, which is to change the behavior of the stock fog light switch rather than adding a new switch.

Sorry, I didn't see your previous thread.
If the goal is to use the stock wiring, then besides installing a pair of fog lights, you need to install a stock RX-8 Fog Light relay and a fog light fuse in the fuse block in the engine compartment. Then you can go to connector E5-04 behind the dash and tap into the LG/B and B wires for your rocker switch.
The only issue is that you need to confrim the LG/B and B wires from E5-04 are exactly the two wires you want. Isolate out the two wires and use a VOM to confirm they are the wires you expect. The LG/B should go hot only when the headlights are on. The B should be ground.
