Wiper Blades Making Loud Noise

Hi chaps,

Since I got my 8 the wiper blades have always been annoyingly noisy. Only very seldom are they silent as they should be.

It doesn't matter what type of blade I use it's noisey. When I take the blades off and lift the wiper arms up there is only the humm from the motors.

I can't for the life of me figure out what it is but I do know that it's very annoying.

Any thoughts??

Have you tried cleaning the glass. Use alcohol if necessary. Don't use it on the blades. It will most likely ruin them.

My blades are not noisey. If cleaning the window does not help, get some new blades.

To clean the wipers I only hose them down, don't use anything on them except water. I wash my car twice a week and the glass gets cleaned with specific glass cleaner. New blades never make a difference, noise is still there!

I would replace the wiper blades with new ones.

Mine have never been noisey (blades changed seasonally, Bosch and Rain-X brands) but you may want to try glass polish. I used my random orbital polisher with made-for-glass polish and my windscreen is noticeably smoother. May help, can't hurt.

Maybe try a different brand of blades? Anco's from WalMart work fine for me.

I use PIAA, works fine.

It gets noisy only when its due for replacement.
