Why so much trouble with this car???

From the first time i join this club.
I realize that many of you get problem with your 8.
Transmission problem, engine problem and a lot more.

Mine's, AT-4 Speed 2004. got transmission problem, rattle sound from the hood, unbalance steering (it more heavy to make right turn), knocking sound from the suspension system when i drove it in a bumpy road, wrong radiator alert.

I wondering if all mazda car have a lot of problem or with other words there are no mazda car's without a problem. It's ridiculous to knew that a brand new RX8 (2009) already get a transmission problem.

I have give up with this car, very disappointed, and i planned to sold it soon, before the 8 make my wallet thin and thinner. It doesn't mean that i did not do a proper maintenance, I'm sure that i always do the need (tune up, change the oil etc) in time.

Forgive me if my opinion doesn't match with yours. but i tell you the truth what my 8 have done to me.

I feel the same way but there is nothing that you can do about it besides selling it and getting a car that requires less maintenance.

From the first time you joined? That was only six Weeks ago.

Come back in a year or so when you have something concrete upon which to base your negative observations.

I have a 2005 RX-8 and a 2002 Mazda6 with Zero issues.

If its so ridiculous was does every new car dealership have a service department? They can't be just doing oil changes.

why so much trouble? Cuz there are too many moron owners like you.

you "noticed" a lot of people talk crap about this car on this forum. what about the other people who never said a word about this car? Does that mean the car has a problem? maybe. but mind you when something works well, no one talk about it.

Unless you are calling me a moron too, you don't have to be one to have had troubles with this car. I've had 3 engines replaced, 4 cats, 2 fuel pumps and transmission rebuilt (@ 12k mi. & it needs work again). I've owned cars for over 35 yrs and never had problems with any that can come close to the problems I've had with this one. The only reason I put up with it is cause it is also the best car I have ever had.

That's pretty typical on any internet forum. I nearly got scared off of buying a new TV because for every set I researched about 30% of forum posters said it was crappy.

However...there are bad units out there.

winxeno...if you're still watching here...you said

Don't know about the transmission or rattling, but the steering problem and suspension knocking sounds like something is broken or worn out in the front end. An '04 is old enough for front end parts to wear. Somewhat early, but it happens. Once I had a tie rod end pull out on a three or four year old car (VW Rabbit). Better have someone look at that before you have a real problem. I was really lucky that my Rabbit's steering broke at low speed, and there happened to be a police car right behind me so help was at hand.

If by "radiator alert" you mean the coolant level light comes on when it shouldn't, that's a common problem. A number of threads on that here.

Did you buy this car new or used?

Ken
