Who wants to be the Guinea Pig?
Who wants to be the Guinea Pig?
I would like to do the following experiment, but since my vehicle is still off in the "land of unknown Mazda vehicle orders", maybe someone else would dare:
-Take the car out on a normal drive, return home and remove the plugs. Observe the plug condition and take some good pictures
-re-install the plugs and when the engine is stone cold, tempt the flooding gods. Start it, move 20 feet or so, and shut down.
-remove the plugs. Observe the plug condition and take some good pictures. Share.
I am wondering just how nasty the plugs might be after the brief run, and how that compares to a normal run (how much self-cleaning takes place when things reach normal temps). I wondering if the plug fouling occurs not so much on the subsequent restart attempt, but during the first seconds of any run, and it's just normal driving that gets 'em back in shape.

Sounds great, but I'm not so impatient that I can't wait till you get your new car and do this little experiment for us. Please let us know how it goes! :-)

No takers, eh? I'll do this once I get the car.

After having done essentially this once, I do not have pictures, but what I saw was black, sooty, and wet with fuel.
