Where is the torque Sensor?

I am trying to locate the torque sensor, no idea where to look. Any idea? Also where is the EPS motor?

Exclamation Sensor.....

The torque sensor is an integral part of the power steering motor, cannot be replaced without a new motor.

The power steering motor sits on the steering rack (where else would it be?)

Note - if you are getting sensor/motor faults, and your car is an early model (built 2003/early 2004) you may just need the updated wiring harness for the motor. Even trained Mazda techs don't know about the upgrade, but Mazda Head Office should - or just ask this forum!

Been there, T-shirt aquired.

Old thread about this is entitled "Steering, breaks....."

Post Cord.....

I don't have an "official" name for it, but it is refered to as the "EPS Short Cord N-05". You want the revised version.

It is on page 121 in the electrical section of the workshop manual.

Good luck, not easy maintaining an '8 without Mazda support.

thanks. Got it from the manual. Ordered it. It is a pain to maintain this without Mazda.
