where to get connector

Ok so for some reason this connect (its actually the middle one) will only work on the left tailight not the right. So I got 2 left connectors. I need one for the right side, anyone know where to get it from?

Not sure I understand what you are saying. Do you mean the connector for the right side backup light will not mate up with the fixture? [There must be a story behind this one.] In any case, individual connectors are not easy to come by but a wrecking yard may be your best bet. Mazda will likely want to sell you the entire wiring harness that the connector is a part of.

Maybe if you provide more descriptive information, and the history leading up to this discovery, someone can be more helpful.

Well I saw that the passenger taillight was somewhat dimmer that the drvier side. I went to check and the connector was not put in tight. So when I tried to put it in, it would not go in right. But I took this same connector and tried it on the drivers side and it went in fine. So I took the driver side connector and tried it in the passenger and it also wold not fit. So I guess I have 2 driver side connector. (I got the car like this) So I need 1 passenger side connector. Its for the stop light. Hope that helps lol.

Here are the 2 relevant pages from the parts manual. If you are talking about the bulb sockets, those can be ordered for you by any Mazda parts department. Just print out the 2 sheets and show the parts person which socket you need.

If you are talking about the wiring harness connector that attaches to the bulb sockets, good luck.

Warranty, possibly? I can't believe such a problematic harness/dim light made it past pre-delivery inspection at the factory. Federal regs and all, ya know.

Perhaps he bought the car used and a previous owner had a rear end incident that was not repaired correctly?

My optimism caused me to not consider that. Good point.

Try www.trussvillemazda.com, (800) 633-8285. Or call Ray at Malloy Mazda parts dept. Don't have his phone number--look it up.

However, you may be better off dealing face-to-face with a local Mazda parts person with the 2 pages in hand. What's wrong with Alliance Mazda? Maybe you're not actually in RM at the moment?

Edit: Malloy Mazda (703) 490-8170

I've been watching this thread closely ...

I cant believe that, it seems that you have access to the service manual, you even *circle* the part number out but you failed to find the part number on the page before it ?

Anyway, I *did* the hard work for you. The part number in your circle should be G19S-51-3G7 , it could be found on Page 162 in parts service manual.

well I called and they said that that connector fits in both taillights, meaning they dont have one for left one for right. So that means something is wrong with the passenger taillight. Ill go and check it out in a few.
