Where does the condensate from the A/C go
Where does the condensate from the A/C go? My piece of crap A/C does not produce enough condensate to hit the ground. Does anyone have that does. A/C at 50. My Tahoe hits 40 degree's and below no problem. Back to the dealship we go. No. 4 times...........

If you live where there is appreciable humidity, you should be producing obvious condensate. If not, the drain pipe may be plugged or misdirected. My car produces copious amounts of condensate and leaves good sized puddles on the garage floor.

As for the condensation, it all depends on the humidity level. The most I have ever seen from the RX-8 is about a saucer sized amount on the garage floor here in TX.

few results from R12 vs R134a from google...

With high relative humidity, my RX8 left a puddle the size of a dinner plate on the ground after I let it idle for 20 minutes today.
Also, if you have it on "recirculate" it will produce less moisture. The cabin air gets dehumidified and it continues to use the drier air in the HVAC system over and over again. On "fresh" it pulls warm humid air continuously from outside and will create alot of condensation. The system is essentialy working harder in this mode, and is why it is recommended in the manual to use "recirc" to get the max efficiency.
