What is the part that blocks air near the hoodlatch?

I'm sorry to bug you guys but this has me stumped.

I've spent quite some time slowly getting my 2004 RX-8 rolling. I replaced the oil lines, fixed the oil pan, put in an underbody splash panel and front wheel fenders. During this I watched a video of a gent putting in an AEM Intake (Which came with my car) The gent who did mine (SIGH) didn't actually finish the project but that aside I noted that when the youtube gent was removing the front plastics of the car he took off a panel that covers the area around where the hood latch sticks up. I think this is to keep air from rushing up and over the radiator. I've dug through a bunch of schematics of the car but I don't see the part and I don't know what to ask for.

I figure someone here probably knows the answer or has a part number.

I'm tempted to just make something but thats kind of Hillbilly and I've already done enough of that getting the car to where it is.

It also helps to block the intake from sucking hot air from the engine bay, but that'd be less of an issue with an AEM style intake
