What does TEST ON mean in the odometer?

What does TEST ON mean in the odometer?

Whenever you hold down the trip reset button and turn the key to aux then turn it off then back on to aux while holding down trip reset the odometer goes to TEST ON... what does that mean?

Its an onboard diagnostic for the guage cluster.

There is also supposedly one on the radio as well according to the shop manual but i can never get that one to work.

Why would you do something like that without knowing what you're doing? It clears your NVRAM.

Well you see thats kinda like saying why did you accidentally shoot yourself in the foot... I sorta just ran into it....
