Were to connect to Comfort-CAN Bus?
Hi All
I was searching for some time but did not find a wire or connector where I can hoock up to the Comfort-CAN bus of the RX-8.
I found the Motor-CAN with 500kb/s on Pin 6 and 14 on the OBDII-Diagnostics-Connector under the steering wheel. (http://www.obd-2.de/tech_conn.html)
But where is the Comfort-CAN? Should be about 100kb/s and somewhere connected to the radio-unit or the controller for all the electric window switches.
Regarding the garage-handbook somewhere on the passengers side behind the plastic covering under the mounting point of the door there should be a controller for various switches which is connected to a CAN bus. But I don't know where this controller is and what kind of CAN it is, could be again the Motor-CAN.
I'm sure there has to be a Comfort-CAN in the RX-8 somewhere
Thanks for your help!
Regards, Chris

Yes, I think the Comfort-CAN is connected to the AC, the Radio-Unit and some switch-to-can interface modules.
I'll take a look on that module by my knee :-) Hope I figure out how to remove that plastic cover.

No Comfort-CAN?? Nooo!! :-(
I found many messages on the Motor-CAN from Handbrake, Speed, Motorvalues and ABS.
But how are the switches for the electric window and the lights connected? Are there separate cables for each switch? No CAN-Bus?
How are the steering-wheel switches for the radio controll connected to the head-unit?

Hum... But the very cheap and 3 year older Fiat Stilo has that Comfort-CAN. There you can get the status of all buttons, all lights, handbrake and gears, send your own text to the radio display and dashboard and so on...
Also nearly every other car has its switches connected by a CAN...
