Weird Issue, Clogged Cat?

Hi all,

I have a 2005 Mazda RX8 with a BHR ignition kit, Exoticspeed R2 exhaust. When I start my car and drive it from a cold start it works fine it revs up nicely and smoothly. However once the car becomes warm the rev becomes slower and around 5-6000rpm I start to get a little hesitation or jitter but does pass 6000 rpm quite slowly. I am wondering if it could be a clogged cat since it only happens once the car is fully warm. I also was getting the SSV solenoid code but cleared it and it hasn't come back.

Thanks for your help!

You have to test the valve , when is cold is fine, but when hot it might start failing,. Check that is connected well, the clip tends to preak off. If you can thy to clean it. But must likely you will need a new one. There are some info here in the forum, search it. Advise to you Do Not rev your rx when cold. That a rule.! Good luck

If it's a bad cat you should have a solid CEL, usually preceded by flashing CELs for misfires.
If you didn't yet, get your OBD scanned, most auto parts stores do it for free.

If you drive it to work allow plenty of time for getting pulled over by the cops.
