Weird gurgling sound

Someone posted the other day about hearing a weird gurgling sound from their car. I can't find the thread anymore.

The sound I am getting from my car are an occasional gurgling sound from my car. I usually get the sound when I first start the car up.

Any help is appreciated.

I get that sound as well. I don't think it's any cause for alarm, it's under warranty. I think it's the cat.

I seem to recall someone talking about there being air in one of the systems, and if they opened up said system, the air would escape and all was well. I just can't remember what the system was.

It's from air pockets in the cooling system- you're hearing it in the heater core behind the dash when you start up. Most people seem to hear it- it's not indicative of a problem of any kind. You can try to work the air out by opening up the radiator on an incline, but probably more trouble than it's worth.

G8rboy-

Thanks! I knew that it wasn't anything serious, just an annoyance. I'll live with it for now.

Gurrgling sound probably is due to the Fuel Tank Canister Purge, that feeds fuel vapour back to the intake system via a very noisy puimp.

I agree with G8rboy, I only hear it from the passenger side dash, or in that area anyway. Only when starting a cold car. So....Air in Heater Core. Not a problem.

Thanks for tracking that thread down for me. I guess I'll try the incline trick, and if that doesn't work I just won't worry about it.

Ok so I’ve got a single bubble bloop, which is intermittent maybe one every four or five minutes also, I can only hear it when the car is off, so I’m kind of assuming that it is the fuel vapor that bro was reffering too. But it’s not an issue is what I’m hearing?

oh and just wondering because I don’t remember reading it but when you started to notice your bubbling sound from the cooling system, was it after a flush and if so, you made sure to run the heater on first start up after job, right. I messed up and forgot last time until like a day later was on the freeway cold turned on the heater got to work, barely any coolant left when I left work that evening. Heater core was empty which is why it was blowing cold most trip.
