Question Weak air flow of climate control system

Has anyone noticed that when the vents are set to "face and feet", the air flow is very weak? When set to "face only", the flow is more than adequate. On a hot day, I can't tolerate any setting besides "face only" if I want to stay cool.

A large part of the problem is that the floor vents have extra outlets underneath the front seats to help cool back seat passengers. I suspect that if you don't anticipate carrying anyone back there, or don't care how warm they get, you could block off those outlets with a towel or rag and thus increase the available flow to the front-seat occupants.

However, I've decided to leave mine alone because I've found that the rear passenger footwell is the best place to carry frozen goods on the way home from the supermarket! The trunk gets quite warm due to the large muffler directly underneath the floor, but by turning the A/C to floor and cranking it to max, the cold goods stay nice and chilly on the floor behind my seat. :D

That's a good idea.. I forgot and put ice cream in the trunk.. Got home and it was LIQUID. Thank god for double plastic bags.

I didn't realize there were back seat vents! Thanks for the info. I'll start putting my groceries back there. ;-)
