VDI failure...? any1 else?

Question VDI failure...? any1 else?

when i drive over 7300 rpm, i hear this nasty clicking sound. i kno at 7300 the VDI opens and i kno thats the issue. anything under 7300 and its perfect. but once the VDI opens it clicks like a mad man! ive heard of this problem b4 but dont kno how it was solved...anyone else have this problem? anyone kno whats the deal???????????

Are you sure it's the VDI? Here's a test:
- Turn your key to the Start position w/o turning on your engine. Wait for 5 or 10 seconds.
- Turn your key to the off position and listen if you hear that click. There's two clicks that you should hear: first one is the VDI turning open and close, and then the Secondary port actuators turning open and close.

If the first click you hear is exactly the click you have been complaining about, then it is confirmed that it's coming from the VDI.

How do you fix it? I dont know, go to the dealership service and tell them about it. They should have some test procedure to diagnose it. It's going to be under warranty.
