Guys, when I say that we have seen examples of oil being extremely dirty in rotaries, I mean it. A couple of mechanics that I know have told me about RX8s that have come in for service, and for some reason the oil had stayed in for more than 10K km. Suffice to say it was about time to change it!!

Like I said before, there is a limit as to how long the oil can stay in the engine before needing a change. Granted, due to the fact that we have to top it off, the oil is renewed. But still, changing the oil is more than that, since the oil system is drained and cleaned.

Anyway, it's your car, you can do whatever you want with it. Just don't come crying back when *for some reason* the engine starts to lose compression and/or heats up
