Trouble w/5-4 downshift
I have a 05' TiGray with 9.3k on the odo. For the past 200 miles or so I have had an issue with downshifting from 5th gear to 4th. The shifter seems to bind up in the gate, and either Ill have to muscle it in or double clutch to get it in. The wierd thing is it only happens SOMETIMES, and thats what worries me. Im afraid Ill take it in for service and I wont be able to show them the problem. I drove around for 20 minutes 4 times so far today and it hasnt locked up, but yesterday it was doing it 75% of the time. It only does this from 5 to 4, and at any rpms it seems.
Should I take the car in and see what they say? Should I wait untill it gets worse so I know theyll notice it?
Would this be a syncros issue by any chance?
My biggest fear is that they will open my gearbox, find a problem, and then try to pass it off as 'Abuse'.
What does everyone think? It starting to worry me more and more recently.
Thanks for any advice -Devin

I always rev match. The reason this issue bothers me so much is when heel/toeing from 5th to 4th it is not fun to hit a wall when your getting into 4th, sometimes can be a scary situation.

Rev matching clearly isnt the issue, it would go into gear regadless, just might be a little jerky. I would take it in right away so they have your issue on record. That way if something major goes wrong that isnt covered by warranty, like clutch going out after 12K miles, you can always say your brought it in before so they dont try to foot you with the bill.

I have had a similar issue with 2nd to 1st... Clutch is on the floor, and it stops and won't go into 1st. You can put it right back into 2nd and then right into 1st, though... That happens to me every once-in-a-while. Not very often. I suppose I should be more concerned... Should I take it in immediately or what?
