I've read a few of the "failed transmission" threads, and it seems that more than a couple have been diagnosed as bent shift-forks. Why can't someone make something like this for our transmissions? Steeda shifter They have overtravel stops so one cannot push the fork too far and bend it.

Just a thought to make the car better.
