transmission question

I was wondering if there is any way to tell if the throwout bearing for the transmission is any good. Right now I have my transmission dropped and the bearing spins but not as free as a new one should should I replace it.

I have always heard that if you can see it, replace it.

If it goes it is a pain to get to, so if you have it out, it is a good time to replace it.

Right on!

When the tranny is dropped, always replace throw out bearing unless for some reason the part is high.

You're comparing labor for trans drop to price of throw out bearing if it completely failed, and I hate a noisy bearing!

You can feel it in your hands-go with it to the light! Ha!

Replace it while you have it out, do the pilot bearing as well since you are there.
