Tranny and Diff. Fluids

What kind or brand of tranny and diff. fluid does the 8 come with from the factory?

Is it synthetic?

Is synthetic fluid recommended for the tranny and differential?

If this is a repost, please redirect.

Search is definitely your friend.

On a side note: Royal Purple 75 / 90...

If I'm going to bother answering, it'll be to answer your question, not to tell you to search...

I'm pretty sure the stock fluids are dino oil (I've been on this forum for over a year, and I don't believe that that's explicitly been discussed).

Most people look at Redline and Royal Purple syns. Syn. is explicitly not recommended by Mazda for the engine, but they say nothing about the tranny, and I can imagine nothing but good coming from that application.

I went syn. (Redline) b/c I figure the tranny has to endure higher temps than normal b/c the underhood temps and EGT are higher than for conventional engines...

EDIT: I used what Jaguar said below... I was so busy being irritated w/ the search ***** that I *didn't* completely answer your question... Thanks Jaguar.

Tranny & Rear Diff. = Royal Purple Max Gear Lube 75w90

and Please KeithL, stop spreading news like "not recommended" thing around. Mazda does not recommend you to do anything to your car other than a Mazda Dealer, do you actually listen ? I'll say you 100% wont.

Good.

Plus, nothing in the manual saids "do not use Synth. Oil"

Thank you
