Trail of fuel leaking from the back of the 8

Hi everybody. I'm pretty fed up right now with this car. I have an '05 8 with about 32,000 miles on it.

Last month I took the car to the dealership with vibration problems and loss of compression. The car was sputtering at low RPM. The sales manager says they have to change the engine. No big deal. I get a nice Mazda 3 as a rental and drive it for a few days as they put it in.

I get the car back last Thursday and I notice that the vibration is still there. The crank is still really long. The thing just isn't right. My plan is to bring it in on Monday.

After work tonight, I decided I'd head out to my nearest Champps to watch the UFC fight. On my way there, I smell gasoline and am like WTF. As I'm driving, I look in the rearview and see a trail of fuel coming from the back of my car. My fuel gauge is dropping and I know I'm f**ked.

My question: If this happened to you, what would you do? I want to bi*ch and yell at every Mazda person I see right now at this stealership.

There's a fuel line that should be carefully replaced when replacing the engine or this happens (followed by fire). Guessing the dealer didn't do that.. call them, get them to own up to their mistake.

Well considering it didn't catch fire tonight, I won't wake up to a burnt car tomorrow will I?

Just an update. I went to the dealer this morning and reamed the manager. He agreed to pay for my car to be towed back and he said that they will take care of everything and make sure it all works. He also said he would take the car home when it's done and drive it around to make sure it's perfect.

I guess it worked out? We shall see....

When things go wrong you have to keep a positive attitude...
You got to ream someone
Your car didn't burn to the ground

Pretty good outcome considering...
