TPMS: When does the "Check Tire" Warning Trigger?

(Didn't see this in any stick or the owners manual, my apologies if already posted)

I checked our 8's tire pressure this weekend. Normally I run them at about 34 PSI.
One tire was down to about 28 PSI, and I never saw an in-dash warning.

At what loss of PSI does the TPMS send a "Check Tire Pressure" signal to the dash?

Thanks

*shurgs*

anything lower than 27 psi will trigger the warning.

and Anything above 36 will trigger the warning as well.

Yep, mine has only gone off once. A slow leak of one tire at around 27 psi. Of course I had to find which one it was. Thru tread that I was able to patch.

btw: the system could be a lot better. My lowly Jeep Patriot renders a continuous display readout of all four tires.

technically speaking our TPMS does send the PSI signal over, its just that we dont have a display for it -_-

at least our TPMS is 10 times better than Honda's, my god damn FIT's TPMS malfunction twice already. I didnt even bother to go fix it.

Swoope seems to have it pegged. When I had leaks, mine would go off under 28 psi. I've had pressures up to 42-43 PSI for autocross without a light.

Funny this post came up. I had mine flood on Monday...fixed it...then hopped in this morning and took off....ding ding ding, I was like "now WTF"..so I see the light come on and I looked in the manual as I drove. Low tire pressure. OK, I got new tires about a month ago, maybe the temperature changes caused some pressure changes. Took it to the place that did my tires (about a mile from where I was at the time) and he said the two front were off just a bit. Put more pressure in them and the light went out after about 1 minute of letting it set and run.

Weird though! He said they were only off by a 1lb or 2 at most.

Mine doesn't go off unless I'm less than 24psi.

I guess it varies from car to car.

On the high side I haven't been north of 40psi yet but I'm not running R-comps and my tires like low pressure.

Mine go off at 27 psi, I know cause the stem seal had a pinhole leak then when they fixed it they scratched the **** out of my rims. Didn't notice before I left so nadda I could do about it. but thats what cheap rims are great for don't have to worry about it for crap. bloody discount tire.
