good deal. I have never ever cleaned it...so it has 85,xxx mi of debris all over it then. I'll take some pics tomorrow, this should be interesting.
I will definitely add this to my tune up list as Charles does. |

I just wiped down my ESS (without removing it - as per Charles R. Hill).
Is it still necessary to preform the NVRAM reset? |

Is it still necessary to preform the NVRAM reset? If you are having issues with missfires that you think could be due to the ESS profile the reset is a good place to start. Try it a couple of times though if it doesn't work at first...seems to not take always on the first try |
After reading up on the ESS I considered doing a clean of it from the top (via removal of the airbox) when it occurred to me I can probably sneak a smartphone close enough to take a video without having to remove anything. Here's the video I captured - was pleasantly surprised it looked so clean, especially after reading some of the reports on these boards.
So here's the video I captured: Though we cannot quite see its most important part, the part that actually faces the index wheel, we get awfully close and can almost see straight across its face, though not right at it. Any thoughts? Given how it looks in the video would you say it's not likely to have an accumulation of ferrous material on its sensing face, or is this just wishful thinking on my part? With many thanks in advance... |
