Wow...Do you travel alot through the week?

I did see the Car and Driver article and it stated the RX8 drinks gas like water.

Yeah I thought about it several weeks ago. I've always liked the car from day one.

I drive a very short distance from work to home, so I don't think it will be that bad overall right now......

if you drive very short distance, this car is not really for you.

it has worst than normal city driving MPG. highway mpg is on par with other cars tho

Good luck with the test drive. If the salesman lets you run it even a little you're going to have a blast.

As for gas mileage, remember, it's a sports car. My 04 has 73k dependable miles on it and I usually get about 20mpg. As with any car, it depends on your driving style. I have actually gotten the sticker 24 mpg... once in three years. I have also seen 16mpg sticking to high revs in low gears. It's so fun to leave it in 4th or even 3rd on the highway and just flog the wee out of it

I said I drive a short distance from home to work.....I still like to rip-it.

I just have more gas for nonproductive driving

I believe this Mazda dealership will allow you to go solo on the test drive, I've done it in the past at a dealership here, we'll see.
