Temp sensor?

well today as i was driving home from work. i looked to see what the temp was outside (i was dying of heat). and it said 65 degrees. wtf.. so i got home and the weather channal said it was about 85 degrees..

what the hell can be wrong with the sensor? or something

that sensor is located in front of the bumper, its by the driver side, hanging on the VFAD duct. its a little black thing thats pointing forward.

if u're still under warranty u can have dealership to check it out.

im not under bumper to bumper warranty. do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?

It just a sucky sensor.
Mine goes to 76°F every time I wash the car - never mind that its 114°F outside!
You can try unplugging it and cleaning the contacts.

yeah try cleaning the contacts or just stop looking at the temp haha

Did you just happen to wash the car? MM mentioned that because mine does the same thing. 75 at 115 degrees. Gets water in it.

Oh and 85 is hot? Wimp.

it happens all the time. doesnt matter if i wash it or not. i will try to take a look at it this weekend when i put my new RP supercat on

So that's what that thing is! Thanks buddy, now I can relocate that to run some tests on engine bay cooling and be able to keep an eye on the temp while driving
