well, well, well. I have been somewhat right again. Dang I'm lucky. I have been changing between 5K and 7.5 k and I guess somewhat right in using a magnet on the oil filter to help "capture" some stuff(ever seen a filter cut open after a strong magnet has been on it a while?). Used to work well with recip engines and so I said what the hell and placed on my 8. Guess some people will have to question being so ****.
So here we go again. Love this stuff. Better than crossword puzzles.

Good stuff.

I use a FilterMag on my filter the SS-250. Strong magnets, still need to cut the used filter open to check it out. As I just changed the oil last night...

Wear rate with the Amsoil looks really good, not too fond of the viscosity increasing though. At 14,000 miles the viscosity was a solid 15W40 from 5W30.

oil pressure gauge would come in a little handy in monitoring the oil viscosity as the readings would be differant. Course if we are tracking the car the oil will be changed with that also in mind.
good read--wonder how Royal Purple would have held up.

It seems like they are done the study...

Very interesting read otherwise.
One very interesting quote that has me thinking is

Engine wear actually decreases as oil ages. This has also been substantiated in testing conducted by Ford Motor Co. and ConocoPhillips, and reported in SAE Technical Paper 2003-01-3119. What this means is that compulsive oil changers are actually causing more engine wear than the people who let their engine's oil get some age on it.
I know I am a compulsive oil changer. And I know alot of you other 8 owners are the same way.

They posted that they are testing the Mobil 1 again to make sure the break in time did not affect the results of it.

I didn't see where they said they were done. Did you?
