Suggestion for custom air intake box?

I plan to make a custom air intake box for my 8. What kind of material do u guys use can resist hot air and most important won't cause fire Do u guys have any instruction how to do that too?? i planned to use alumium but i don't know if that will cause fire. How about metal or wood?

If you plan to completely remove the stock airbox and fab up an entire new system, I'd just save the effort, soend the money and get the Racing Beat intake. It will be very hard to match in terms of craftsmanship and is by far the best engineered intake available for the RX-8. If you just want to customize yours, the one in the linked thread is a good way to do it.
