strut bar removal

Does anyone know if the strut bar in the engine bay is attached with some kind of threadlock on the bolts? and if I remove it will I need to get more thread lock to put it back on?

no, you can remove it easily
its just two bolts on each side

thank you :) I was afraid to try and then screw up something- I really doubt these things can drive without one

If I remember correctly, it's a 12mm nut.

13-19.5 ft-lbs

If your looking to replace it you should check out the thread titled thanks under the Canadian forum. You will find a picture of a Triangular strut bar from cpracing. I had the mod installed on my car--what a difference in handling. You can order one at cpracing.ca. It's easy to install.

"...why would you say that?" .......being winter-I don't need even the most minute loss of control

oh, it's just an ancillary structural peice, which benefits your suspension under only the heaviest load. so, in winter especially (with the low speeds everywhere), it's not a big deal if you had to leave it off :)

wakeech- thanks! I was worried about getting my timing right to get it back on before I drove it to work- now I am in the cool- thanx for the response- your advice is always heeded with the upmost respect
