Steering Bushing Replacement

I'm curious, I was reading through the Sept. issue of Sport Compact Car, the one where that take a nice shiny new blue Sti and paint it flat black with spray paint, and on that same car, they appear to have replaced some steering components (I'm guessing so kind of bushing) I believe to sharpen up the steering somewhat so as to compete with the EVO.

This got my wondering, can you make any marked improvements in your steering with these things? Not that ours is bad, but I was wondering if you could get the precision of a car with stiffer sways or lower springs, with better bushings?

I wouldn't go the Sport Compact Car way. Those guys are pretty insane, and people that try their methods outside of the magazine will severely mess up their car. I'd rather just stick to traditional suspension upgrades to improve steering feel.

I wouldn't follow the advice of anyone who spray paints a brand new car with 12 cans of flat black paint and considers it a job well done.
