Starter Motors, which year???

Starter Motors, which year???

Hi all,

I have recently heard that my 2004 04 plate RX 8 230 has the smaller/slower starter motor, i would be very grateful if any of you on here could tell me on what year/models Mazda realised that it was to small and started fitting the larger ones that spin the engine faster to eliminate the starting problem, any help/advice would be great.

The '06 and newer models have the better starter.
This works great when combined with a better battery (at least 600cca).

Cheers m8, i have the chance of a nearly new starter removed from a 2008 230 RX 8 with 13000miles on, so this should do the trick.
