special tool for removing front rotors?
didnt see this answered in the threads i searched.
are the front phillips head screws that hold the front rotors locktited? will i be able to remove them with a large screwdriver? will i have to heat them to soften the locktite? i think i read about a special tool to remove these, is it needed?
if they arent glued in there i will be ok. will be doing this in a hurry saturday morning so want to have any special equipment ready (other than my usual torch and large hammer )
thanks,
james

I have a little impact tool that is designd for such things. It is a little handheld thing that can ue either a phillips head or a flat tip bit. It is spring loaded. You hold it up to the screw and hit the end with a hammer. It might take a few hits but it'll break them loose. Then you just use a regular screwdriver. Don't try to just use a screwdriver only. If they are on there tight enough, you'll just strip them out. Then you'll be in trouble. Go up to the hardware store and pick up a little impact driver for a few bucks. You'll be glad you did.

One of the first things I did when I bought, was put a bit of Never-Seize on those screws (while they where nice, shiny and new!) I also do my wheel studs, the salt can seize an alloy wheel to a steel rotor very quickly.
Changed my rotors to "drilled" type this spring - no impacts required....(where is that "smug" emoticon?... )
