I previously changed my oil filter, but the workshop found they ran out of mazda OEM oil filter, they have other brand. they have same radius on the round part, can be used too, but the only thing is that its 50% longer.

Does this effect performance?

i am not sure whether is phycologically effect me or not. i think the car's reaction when i rev is slower.

 

longer as in taller? should be fine. The only way it would be bad is if the diameter was off, which would cause it to leak.

OEM aint that good anyway. so it doesnt matter.

 

Oil pressure will change as oil filter size changes.

 

Anybody that tells you size doen't matter is selling something.

one more Question. If the oil pressure is higher than normal, what does this mean?
