I was not aware that satellite radio required an outside antenna. The one that was in my truck (before it was stolen) had a small antenna that was laid out on the dash.

you can always install the antenna underneath the cover on the rear deck

lol yeah well that is part of the reason I want the smaller one as it is a lot less noticable compared to the huge bump I have now.

also on my soon to be wifes wrx I just mounted it with double sided tape on the cowl and ran the wire in the door area. you can't even see it unless you look for it.

I assume that the cover of the rear deck would be the inside of the truck door?

i assume you mean the truNk?

no, it is not, it would be under the same covering as the rear speakers, on top of the deck but under the cover. works fine, thats where mine is and i relocated another members antenna to the same area with their factory sirius antenna

alright well guess no one knows lol

there are some cuts in the antenna wire from the original install from original owner and would like to replace the antenna with the smaller one and mount inside possibly and/or on the trunk

That would have to be an installer item as I would never attempt to run the wires there. Might be easy for you. I'll check with Best Buy installers.

I had my factory sirius antenna mounted on the rear deck right in the center between the speakers for the very reason you mention. I did not want an unsightly bump on the exterior of the car.

It works well and I've never had any problems with it.

I had it done at the dealership right after I bought the car in 2005.
