I figured it would be a good idea to understand what happens if the port closes at 6250rpms as they claim.

Easiest way to do it is by looking at this picture. The max power does not hit NEAR the 250 mark. It does however, pass 150.

Let's take a look again:

well for comparison sake, here's a dyno of my FC when its 5th/6th ports were stuck shut:

the FC has a redline of 8000, as you can see, as soon as the rpm reaches 5000 the torque drops drastically, and really dives after 5500, the point at which the 5th/6th ports were suppose to open.

those auxiliary ports not opening has a DRASTIC effect on the rotary's top-end torque and power...

Thumbs down

Ummmmmmmm... Herc? The two lines on your graph aren't labled, so I'm kinda having a hard time getting any useful information from it all...

In fact, if I interpret the red line to be torque and the blue line to be hp, (as the y-axis labeling suggests), then things look pretty normal to me.

Is that the flattest torque curve ever or what?

Sorry about that.. the flat curve is the torque, and the peaky curve is the horsepower.

That's a *normal* curve of both. If the 6250 port were closed, just imagine that curve kinda 'flatlining' after 6250. You'd reach only ~200 horsepower.

Thus I posted the original so people had a good comparison of what was going on.

Cool...

Do you have a graph of what happens when the port is malfunctioning (even though I am not convinced of the integrity of the rumour that says it was malfunctioning)?

Unless SCC posts their dyno plot we will never know. I believe ZoomZoomH's dyno graph clearly illustrates what happens if the ports get stuck. It's not the Renesis but I think it shows the general result very well.

That's exactly why the relatively "low torque" issue some people endlessly rant about, really shouldn't be an issue. It's the torque over time / rpms that really matters.
