AT shifting / slipping

I have noticed in the morning when I shift out of park and into manual 1st gear, before I can get my foot off the brake and onto the gas it shifts into 2nd gear.
I asked the dealer and he could not see or duplicate the problem.
I took the technician for a drive and showed him. I shifted from park and went into 1st gear( I even push the stick forward to make sure it is in 1st gear),then it shifted into 2nd gear by itself.
They say it is because I shifted the stick too fast. ?
OK, so I slow down and it does not due it. Most of the time.
Has anybody else seen or had this occur?
Also sometimes my transmission will slip from 2nd to 3rd gear, the
rpm's are between 4500 and 5500. The engine RPM's will increase about
750 RPM and then it catches 3rd gear.
Am I the only one that has a problem with his AT?

This is interesting but not quite what I have for a problem.
First thing is it shifts itself when I am not even moving.
Goes from 1st to 2nd by itself in sport mode, without moving the car.
The second problem is alittle bit more close to what you have in that thread.
It occurs when I am in sport shift mode only going from 2nd to 3rd,and
accelarateing. No corners on the straight and not full throttle.
The engine RPM's increase while the trans is shifting betwen gears.
Reminds me of when the old PowerGlide gets low on fluid and slips.

Does it actually shift from 1-2 or does the indicator light just change? The indicator on the dash changes before the transmission actually performs the shift.

I don't know whether this is applicable for the AT 8 but my auto daily driver does not shift into higher gears (as mentioned in the owner's manual) if the transmission fluid hasn't warmed up yet, this is to protect the torque converter.

Bump...

My AT skips/slips gears as well, in auto mode will enter a corner in 2nd and will come out a corner in 4th. Sometimes driving in straight line from a stop, starts in 1st and just jumps straight to 3rd. Needless to say, I lose a lot of acceleration power when it slips.

Getting 30K maintenance done today and the Dealer/Service Tech recommend that ATF Cooler gets flushed and De-carboning the Engine/Drivetrain? I held off on getting that done, since each service would cost $100 per. Wanna see if the ATF fluid change would solve the problem before flushing the ATF cooler. Anyone have advice/comments or have had the flushing/de-carboning done??

Mine also delays a little going between 2nd and 3rd. Other than that my AT performs well in sport mode, in fact I drive it in sport mode 100% of the time because I don't like the way the full auto spends too much time in 4th gear, even when going like 15 mph. I have noticed on mine, even in sport mode, if you are in 4th, and floor it, it will automatically downshift for you.

I have never had mine do the 1 to 2 shift thing that you describe, sounds like you have a short in one of the paddles or shifter or something.
