Shifting into second.
I'll try to explain this the best I can. When trying to shift into second, when "cold" if not done neally slowly there is almost a grind happening. Its almost a buzz/grind. If done really slowly to which I watch my RPM's and Speed drop drastically...around 20 kms ish when i start down to about 10kms when finally shifted it seems to be okay. Now once the car is really warmed up there is absolutely no problem. It shifts smooth, and quickly. What is my problem here? I found recently if I almost just ...shift it almost hard, there is no problem...can I be shifting too slow?
What I'm looking for is there something wrong with my tranny/gears, clutch...any suggestions would be nice.

I'm actually not trying to let the revs drop down. As I try to upshift, I try to pull it into second but only as hard as it will let me. I'm not trying to pull it into gear hard. Just pull down with increasing pressure until it pops it. The higher gears seem to have no problem. Do you think I can wait until next year to change the tranny fluid. I only plan on going about a month or so at the most, then I'm storing her up for the cold ones?

I know the exact same problem mine does it and noticed if i hold the clutch in for a couple extra seconds it slides right in once i do that the next time i shift to 2nd it goes smoothly and that's only whe it's "cold"

mine does the same thing. has every since i got the car about a year ago and no problems yet. running eneos fluid(courtsey of charles r. hill) in trans and didn't really notice much difference from stock except it seems the shifter moves a bit easier than with stock fluid.

Well i guess when spring finally does arrive I'm going to be doing all the fluid changes on my little baby. Only a couple more weeks and its up on stands. I'm sort of going to miss it really. But I'm not gonna try the winter driving again. I'm not worried about how it drives, more worried about other people driving into it. Once next year arrives I'm going to be putting all the rest of my little toys on. I need the second car before that happens. Just in case I don't get it all put back together. LOL. So fluid change it is. Hopefully that helps a little better. I found recently since last night if I don't baby it so much into gear its usuall a lot better. I don't slam it into gear but forcefully enough to get it right. It actually seems to be going a lot smoother because of it.

The only thing I have noticed with the pedal is when it gets really warm outside and I just get in it squeeks. Well I have the support bracket for the clutch pedal I should have put on about a month ago. Unfortunately I couldn't get around too it. I have to go to my fathers place to do it which is about a hour drive away. But its now something I'll be doing as soon as I bust it out next summer. I really should start making a list of everything that I have that should be put on and things I want to change. Thanks for your help guys. Oh and I'm only 24,000 Kms on it. Not even close to 45,000 miles.

I have the same prob w/ new red line fluid, only at 2nd cold gear, when i bought this used car, did not recall the prob for 2 months before i changed the fluid, but i guess i can live w/ this as long as it wont cause further prob.

My biggest problem is that I never really drive it enough over a long enough time to get it warmed up enough to get to the point where it isn't a pain in the ***. Once I've gone on a road trip its fine, but for the trip back and forth to work it doesn't get to that point.
